Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 April 2026

Summary for parents: MathStack does not collect any personal information from your child. No names, emails, photos, or location data. The app works offline and stores progress only on the device.

1. About MathStack

MathStack is an educational maths game designed for children aged 5-10. It is developed by GeeIT and is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

MathStack does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII). Specifically, we do not collect:

  • Real names, usernames, or email addresses
  • Phone numbers or physical addresses
  • Photos, videos, or audio recordings
  • Precise or approximate location data
  • Device identifiers that could identify a child personally
  • Browsing history or search queries
  • Contact lists or social media profiles

3. Data Stored on Device

MathStack stores the following data locally on your child's device only:

  • Game progress (scores, stars, levels completed)
  • Preferences (sound and haptics settings)
  • Selected mascot character and cosmetic choices

This data never leaves the device unless the optional leaderboard feature is used (see Section 4).

4. Optional Leaderboard Feature

MathStack includes an optional leaderboard feature that allows children to compare scores with classmates and friends. If a child chooses to join the leaderboard:

  • A randomly generated fun name (e.g., "Swift Panda") is assigned — children do not enter their real name
  • An anonymous device identifier is generated to associate the profile with the device
  • Game scores and progress are synced to our cloud servers (hosted by Supabase)
  • Children may join a school group created by their teacher or parent
  • Children may add friends using a short code shared verbally

No real names, emails, or other personal data are ever collected through the leaderboard. The leaderboard is entirely optional and the app functions fully without it.

5. School Groups

Teachers and parents can create school groups within the app. School groups display only:

  • Auto-generated fun names (not real names)
  • Game scores and stars
  • Selected mascot character

Teachers cannot see any personal information about individual children through the app.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

MathStack is designed to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent international regulations. We:

  • Do not require account creation or login
  • Do not collect personal information from children under 13
  • Do not serve behavioural or targeted advertising
  • Do not allow children to create or share user-generated content
  • Do not include links to external websites accessible to children
  • Do not use analytics or tracking tools

7. Third-Party Services

MathStack uses the following third-party services:

  • Supabase (database hosting) — for the optional leaderboard feature only. Supabase processes data in accordance with their privacy policy.
  • Expo / EAS (app distribution) — for delivering app updates. No user data is shared with Expo.
  • RevenueCat (in-app purchase management) — for processing the optional one-time premium upgrade. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipt from Apple/Google. No personal information is shared. See RevenueCat privacy policy.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Device-stored data can be deleted at any time by:

  • Using the "Reset All Progress" option in the app's Settings screen
  • Uninstalling the app

Leaderboard data (if opted in) can be deleted by contacting us at the email below. We will remove all associated data within 30 days.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
